Brush fire may have been caused by remote-control model plane

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES

About 70 firefighters responded to the grass fire after it was reported just after noon on the 6400 block of Woodley Avenue.

The flames scorched about a quarter of an acre before being contained.

The smoke and firefighting efforts shut down Woodley Avenue between Victory and Burbank boulevards. There's a radio-controlled model aircraft flight area nearby.
