Ventura County Sheriff's deputies injured in Moorpark arrest

MOORPARK, Calif.

The first deputy to arrive saw Moorpark resident Michael Gonzalez, 24, holding a female on the ground. Gonzalez allegedly turned and hit the deputy in the face as he attempted to pull him off the victim. The punch caused injury.

Other deputies arrived and subdued Gonzalez with the use of Taser, according to the sheriff's department. Two other deputies sustained minor injuries. One deputy was treated at a hospital and released.

Gonzalez was arrested for false imprisonment by violence of the female victim, four counts of resisting arrest using force, possession of a dirk or dagger, criminal threats, domestic violence, battery upon a peace office causing injury and under the influence of a controlled substance. Gonzalez is currently in custody at the Ventura County Main Jail with a bail of $500,000.
