Suspects in custody after vehicle search on 110 North

SOUTH LOS ANGELES

Authorities say three men walked into the Altura Credit Union in the 12100 block of Day Street in Moreno Valley at 9:20 a.m. and brandished guns. After the robbery, the suspects fled in two vehicles, according to witnesses.

The vehicles were described as a silver Ford Taurus and a gold Buick. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that the money bag contained a GPS tracker. The bag was tracked to the 60 Freeway and then to the northbound 110 Freeway.

Authorities stopped traffic on northbound lanes as they searched with guns drawn for the suspects, creating a backup on the freeway. The three suspects and the money bag were eventually found at about 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say the suspects had dumped the getaway cars and switched vehicles. They were found in a black Volkswagen Jetta.
