Cat caught in cactus rescued, nicknamed 'Prickly Pete'

PHOENIX

Someone saw the cat on Wednesday and called authorities in Phoenix. When workers with the Arizona Humane Society arrived, they found the poor cat covered with needles.

Authorities have their theories as to how the cat got into this sticky situation.

"I think a bird could have lured him in there. I think they have fun, they start pouncing around and before they know it they're in this predicament," said Bretta Nelson with the Arizona Humane Society.

It took two hours for four workers to remove the cactus needles. They nicknamed him "Prickly Pete." He's making a full recovery.
