The crash occured near Getty Center Drive in the Sepulveda Pass around 11:10 p.m.
Responding fire crews raised the semi-truck and pried the conscious man out of his car, which was completely smashed.
He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It's unclear what caused the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
