SOUTH LOS ANGELES

The empty 5,000-square-foot lot was rededicated as a community garden on Saturday.

After the owner of the land failed to pay the property tax, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust stepped in to turn the space into a community garden.

The garden is named after philanthropist Erika Glazer, who donated $150,000 to the project.
