Selena Gomez arrives home, finds transient in guesthouse

CALABASAS, Calif.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the 5100 block of Garrett Court after private security personnel detained a burglary suspect at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say 21-year-old Gomez had just arrived at her home with friends when she heard a noise and called security.

While waiting for security, the suspect allegedly knocked on a door at the home. One of the friends answered the door, but when the suspect asked for Gomez, the friend then closed the door.

Security arrived and located the suspect, who had forced his way into a guesthouse, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The suspect, identified as Cruz Che, was arrested for felony burglary and is being held on $50,000 bail. Authorities say he is a transient.

In January, a 19-year-old man was arrested for trespassing at Gomez's home. And in 2011, the young star was granted a three-year restraining order against a man who allegedly threatened to kill her.

Gomez was named favorite female singer on Saturday at the annual Kids' Choice Awards. She starred in the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place" and then went on to become a pop star, with hits like "Love You Like a Love Song." She has also appeared in the films "Hotel Transylvania" and "Spring Breakers."
