OJAI, Calif. (KABC) -- A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck the Ojai area on Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred at 1:12 p.m. and was centered about 12 miles northeast of Ventura, the USGS said. It was originally measured at a 4.0 magnitude before later being downgraded.

No injuries or major damage were reported.

ABC7 viewers reported feeling the temblor in Ventura, Santa Paula and Oxnard.

"Oxnard felt it," one viewer said on Facebook. "I thought someone was pushing my vehicle as a prank."

"I live in Ventura and yes, we did fill the jolt and some shaking," said another.
