FRESNO, Calif. -- The search is on for five inmates who escaped from the Madera County Department of Corrections.
The inmates escaped around 9:15 p.m. Friday, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart. She added that the escape was a physical breach, not a violent breach.
Authorities are looking for Juan Lopez, 33, Abel Ramos, 25, Ricardo Cendejas, 19, Roel Soliz, 29, and Jorge Lopez-Diaz, 26.
Initially, officials said that one inmate -- Juan Lopez -- had escaped on Friday night. However, they announced on Saturday that four other inmates also broke out.
The inmates were issued orange jail jumpsuits, blue-and-white shirts, white tube socks and orange Crocs.
All five men should be considered armed and dangerous, Stuart said.
Anyone with information on the inmates' whereabouts is urged to call the Madera County Sheriff's Office at (559) 675-7770.
