HAWTHORNE, Calif. (KABC) -- The son of a woman found dead inside her Hawthorne home Saturday afternoon has been arrested in connection to her murder.



Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives responded to a report of a fatality on the 12700 block of Inglewood Avenue around 4:45 p.m. after her family called police, saying they were concerned about her well-being.



Responding detectives pronounced 57-year-old Amparo Vasquez dead at the scene.



Vasquez's 34-year-old son, Nicolas Lopez, was taken into custody. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
