LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles International Airport will close one of its runways for several months for federally mandated construction.
The closure of outboard runway 24R/6L at the north runway complex begins Monday and will run through Oct. 19.
LAX is performing upgrades to create more room for landing and departures.
Officials say the construction work will likely result in flight delays comparable to delays during bad weather.
