MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (KABC) -- Four bodies were found in a home in the Pacific Hills area of Mission Viejo on Tuesday. An investigation is underway in the upscale community.
The gruesome discovery was made around 9 a.m. in the 25600 block of Pacific Hills Drive. According to a neighbor, authorities were conducting a welfare check on the residents in the home.
The neighbor said a husband, wife and two teenage children live in the house. It's not yet clear if the bodies are those of the family. Investigators only confirmed that the victims were two male and two females.
The incident appears to be an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities stressed that there are no outstanding suspects, and there is no danger to the community.
A family friend who did not want to be identified on camera said the husband is a business consultant and that the husband's wife is a stay-at-home mother. They have a 15-year-old daughter and a son in his early 20s.
Records show that the house is owned by Mark and Lydia Sheer. Family friends confirmed to Eyewitness News that Mark and Lydia live at the house with their two children, Amy, 15, and Mike, 21.
