FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 24-year-old man was arrested in the brutal beating and robbery of a 74-year-old woman in front of her Fontana home.
Donte Webb was arrested on Tuesday by Fontana police officers.
Investigators served a search warrant at a Fontana home, where they found a car and other evidence that linked Webb to the crime.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was attacked outside of her home on the 8600 block of Blanchard Avenue on Saturday morning. The suspect struck her in the face, causing her to black out. When she came to, her purse was gone.
She was transported to the hospital with a serious face injury. She ended up with a softball sized bruise on the side of her face.
Webb was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and committing a felony while on bail. Webb's bail was set at $750,000.
