Robbery suspect arrested after San Pedro barricade

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES -- A robbery suspect has surrendered without incident following a barricade situation that shut down a San Pedro neighborhood.
The incident happened near 5th Street and Pacific Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. An LAPD SWAT team responded to the scene due to concern that the suspect may be armed.
The surrounding area was evacuated as police worked to take the suspect into custody.
The suspect was arrested at about 2:30 p.m.
