Woman's death investigated in Castaic

CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating a woman's death in Castaic on Saturday.



Deputies from the Santa Clarita Station responded to the 36000 block of Paradise Ranch Road after the woman's husband found her unresponsive around 8:38 a.m. and dialed 911, according to the sheriff's department.



The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.



"The victim suffered physical trauma to her upper torso, but it is unknown if her injuries are related to her cause of death. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy which will be conducted at a later date," sheriff's officials wrote in a news release.



No arrests have been made, and no suspect information was immediately available.
