PANORAMA CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- An incident that started as a hit-and-run turned into a high-speed pursuit and ended with a crash into a church in Panorama City.
Police were called at 9:40 p.m. Saturday to Parthenia Street, just east of Sepulveda Boulevard, where the church is located.
Police said the victim started to follow a pick-up truck after it hit him. The suspect then took off at high speeds. After hitting a dip in the road, the suspect lost control of the car and slammed into a church.
The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence.
Services for the church were moved to a private home.
