In the video, the family is gathered at the observation deck with only a glass partition separating them from the silverback gorillas. A little girl can be seen beating her chest and laughing, having a great time watching the animals. But the family's amusement quickly turns to terror when a gorilla suddenly charged at her.
The gorilla begins to run toward the glass enclosure before jumping and slamming his body into the glass, splintering it upon impact. Fortunately the glass did not shatter, but the family ran in fear before the video promptly cut off.
According to a source, the incident occurred at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.
Adult male silverbacks have been reported to weigh up to 510 pounds in the wild, though violent aggression toward others is considered a rare event. There is currently no word on what, if anything, incited the gorilla's attack.
