Cool Kid Elizabeth Carey prepares to swim in the Special Olympics World Games

CERRITOS, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, July 16, is Elizabeth Carey, a Special Olympian who makes a splash with her positive attitude and determination in the water.

Elizabeth said her grandparents, who are raising her, are the source of her motivation to do well in swimming.

She will be competing in the swimming competition for the upcoming Special Olympics.
