Some homes in the Sunland area were reduced to rubble by the Creek Fire.

KAGEL CANYON, Calif. (KABC) -- All Los Angeles Unified School District schools in the San Fernando Valley and some on LA's Westside will be closed on Thursday and Friday because of the ongoing brush fires.



The district is closing 265 schools, including district-affiliated charters, amid the Creek and Skirball brush fires.

The closures include every school in the Valley and 17 schools in the area of the Skirball Fire. That includes all schools in LAUSD's Local District Northeast and Local District Northwest and the 17 schools in Local District West.



The Santa Ana winds are expected to continue bringing dangerous fire conditions to Southern California at least through Thursday evening.



The Creek Fire has prompted many other mandatory evacuations and closures near Kagel Canyon and Sylmar.

-- Shadow Hills areas north of Sunland Boulevard

-- The Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, 2551 W Avenue H, Lancaster, is still available for horse evacuations.



-- For small animals: Sunland Park: 8651 Foothill Blvd, Sunland/Tujunga, West Valley Animal Shelter: 20655 Plummer Street 91311 and East Valley Animal Shelter: 14409 Vanowen St



-- For dogs: Agoura Camp Bow Wow, 29348 Roadside Dr, Agoura Hills



Road closures:



--Both sides of the 210 Freeway are back open - but several ramps remain closed in both directions. All of the westbound ramps from the 118 Freeway to the 5 Freeway are closed, and four eastbound off-ramps are also closed: Osborne, Wheatland, Sunland and La Tuna Canyon, CHP said.



--Little Tujunga Canyon Road b/t Foothill Boulevard and Placerita Canyon / Sand Canyon Roads



--Kagel Canyon Road



--Lopez Canyon Road



--Foothill Blvd / Osborne Street



--Osborne Street off-ramp and Paxton Street off-ramp from the westbound 210 Freeway



--Sunland Boulevard off-ramp from the eastbound 210 Freeway


The Creek Fire was first reported Tuesday morning as a 100-acre fire in the area of Gold Creek and Little Tujunga Canyon roads.



Additional school closures:



-- The Cal State Northridge campus is closed and classes have been canceled for Thursday. For more information, students can call 1-866-515-2786 and faculty/staff can call 1-866-535-2786.



-- Every LAUSD school in the San Fernando Valley, including all of Local District Northeast and Local District Northwest. Also, 17 schools in Local District West listed here.



--Los Angeles Mission College, 13356 Eldridge Avenue, Sylmar
