LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A new red flag warning is being issued for most of Southern California as the Santa Ana winds return.
The next few days will see an increased risk of fire as the winds sweep across dry brush.
The red flag warning is being issued starting Wednesday at 2 a.m. and lasting through Friday 11 a.m.
High-wind warnings will also be in place for parts of the Inland Empire and northern Los Angeles County, with winds gusting up to 65-75 mph in some mountain passes and canyons.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Wednesday will be windy with gusts up to 40 mph and a high of 74 degrees, with similar conditions on Thursday. The winds will subside by the weekend.
The valleys and Inland Empire Wednesday will see wind gusts up to 40 mph with a high of 74.
The beaches will be sunny and windy, with gusts up to 50 mph and a high of 72.
The mountains will be cold, with a high reaching only 43 during the daytime with dangerous winds gusting up to 65 mph.
The desert areas will see a high of 59, dropping to 27 overnight. with gusts up to 45 mph.
