High winds continue Monday in desert areas, elevating fire danger

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Red flag conditions in parts of Southern California are increasing the danger of wildfires spreading.

Sunday saw multiple wildfires break out across the region and Monday will continue to bring windy and warm conditions to many desert and inland communities.

A high wind warning is in place for desert communities through 3 a.m. Tuesday, with winds reaching 40 mph.

Los Angeles and Orange counties will see some clouds Monday morning, possibly mixed with haze from wildfires, and a high of 77 degrees by the afternoon.

The Inland Empire and valleys Monday will be warm, with a high of 80, heating up to 86 on Tuesday.

Beaches will stay cool and cloudy with a high of 70.

Mountain communities can expect temperatures around 75, with wind gusts up to 30 mph.

Deserts will be sunny, hot and windy, hitting 87 on Monday, with gusts up to 50mph.
