LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Memorial Day is often considered the unofficial start of summer, but it might not feel like it as the May gray sticks around next week and Southern California cools off.
Most areas will see thick clouds in the morning hours the next few days, but not much chance for a drizzle. The clouds will start to clear in the afternoon around 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Los Angeles and Orange counties Saturday can expect a high of 72 degrees and a low of 61. Expect several days of cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70s after that.
The valleys and the Inland Empire Saturday will see some cloudy skies in the morning, followed by sun and a high of 76 degrees. Temperatures dip to 54 degrees in the evening. The morning clouds will stick around until Wednesday, and after that, the sunshine sticks around, and temperatures begin to warm up.
Beaches Saturday will also see some morning clouds and afternoon sunshine amid a high of 63. Similar temperatures are on tap through the weekend and into next week.
The mountains Saturday will be sunny and breezy, with a high of 64 and a low of 38.
The deserts Saturday can expect gusty winds and a high of 83 degrees, with Palm Springs reaching a high of 97. Similar temperatures are expected for the next few days.
