SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A first of its kind Whole Foods Market store opened in Silver Lake and offers cheaper options.
The 365 by Whole Foods opened in the 2500 block of Glendale Boulevard in Silver Lake. The smaller version of Whole Foods Market has cheaper prices and uses more technology to help consumers.
The new style of stores comes as market analysts say Whole Foods Market recently had its worst sales performance since 2009. CNN reported the company has lost almost half its worth since the end of 2013.
Whole Foods Market hopes to target millennials with options like grab-and-go items and a points program to help save money.
The chain is banking on the value oriented concept, as it's set to open 19 new stores in the next few months.
In the video above, ABC7 Food Coach Lori Corbin gives us a glimpse inside the new 365 by Whole Foods.
