Beverly Hills project faces opposition

Expect a packed house at the Beverly Hills City Hall Monday night as opponents of a large hotel expansion attempt to stop the project.Despite heavy opposition, council members are expected to approve the construction of a Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and two condominiums on the site of the Beverly Hilton. Opponents are collecting signatures for a ballot measure to halt the project, arguing the development would bring unwanted traffic congestion.

Supporters say they need the tax revenue.
