Brush fire erupts in Long Beach wetlands area

LONG BEACH, Calif.

Authorities say the fire erupted in the area of Studebaker Road and 2nd Street. The threatened gas lines are above ground.

At least 40 firefighters responded to the scene. Three acres have burned so far. Fire officials say smoke from the brush fire is impacting the Long Beach Marketplace nearby.

The cause of the fire is unknown. No injuries have been reported. Streets in the area were closed due to the fire fight.
