1 found dead in Westmont house fire, officials say

WESTMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- One person was found dead at the scene of a house fire in the Westmont area Friday morning, Los Angeles County fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of W. 109th Street around 10:05 a.m. following a report of a house fire.

Authorities confirmed that a person was found dead inside.

The fire has since been extinguished. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
