Small Sherman Oaks wildfire extinguished

Sherman Oaks, Calif. There was very little wind when the fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. in the hills in the populated Benedict Canyon area.

Flames burned about two acres, and authorities said no homes were in danger.

Fifty firefighters, eight fire companies and two water-dropping helicopters responded and were able to put the fire out quickly.
