Villaraigosa has attended a series of fundraisers in New York City, Chicago and Florida.
In all, Villaraigosa has raised 2.3 million dollars for his election campaign.
Six people have filed paperwork to run against the mayor in the upcoming primary election. The primary will be held on March 3.
