Firefighters in Findlay have been battling a blaze all through the night and morning at Streicher's Quickprint and Copy Center on Main Street. Officials tell us two firefighters were hurt; one of them is at Blanchard Valley Hospital right now. No word on how bad those injuries were or their conditions. The fire broke out around 11:30 last night. We're told a nearby business called The Sign Shack was also damaged.
Crews were also on the scene of a pedestrian struck by a car. This happened on Byrne Road near Hill Avenue. Authorities say a white male was trying to cross Byrne when he was hit by a car traveling northbound. The victim was taken to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
A sigh of relief this morning as radio contact has been established with a 16-year-old sailor. Abby Sunderland was attempting to sail solo around the world when something went wrong. She sent out a distress signal Thursday. Searchers aboard an airplane spotted her boat in an upright position and made contact. Officials say a fishing vessel is en route to pick her up.
A dog in Maryland is a tail-wagging pooch this morning after rescuers pull him to safety from a smelly septic well. Police say the black lab fell into the well and was trapped for hours before two animal control officers were able to rescue him. Amazingly the dog was not hurt. Officials hope to reunite the dog with its owner.
The Ohio Attorney General's office is stepping in to help storm victims in Northwest Ohio. Attorney General Richard Cordray and Toledo Area Better Business Bureau are offering an information center in Wood County this week. The center will offer tips to those people trying to rebuild and helping to avoid scam artists from taking advantage of vulnerable homeowners. If you would like to attend, the information center will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. today. It is located at the Millbury Fireman's Recreation Hall on Oak Street in Millbury.
Officials in Peru say Dutch murder suspect Joran van der Sloot has told police that he knows the location of the body of missing U.S. teen Natalie Holloway. Van der Sloot reportedly let slip that he knew the place where Holloway was buried. Police say the matter came up as Van der Sloot confessed to killing 21-year-old Peruvian Stephany Flores in a Lima, Guardia hotel room.
Gary Coleman's ex-wife is asking a Utah court to appoint her special administrator of the former child actor's estate. Shannon Price and Coleman were divorced in 2008, but she claims she's still Coleman's "common law" wife. She was with him when he suffered a brain hemorrhage. Coleman died two weeks ago at the age of 42.
Former "Dancing with the Stars" champ Shawn Johnson took the stand against her accused stalker Robert O'Ryan. Police say he broke onto the lot for the ABC hit show when Johnson was competing. In court, prosecutors showed Johnson the knife and guns found in O'Ryan's car. They say he drove all the way from Florida hoping to marry her.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has signed a bill setting rules for four planned casinos. But Strickland says he's disappointed over a measure establishing an income tax deduction for gambling losses. He estimates the deduction will cut the state's budget by $60 million to $80 million every two years starting in 2014.
