Firefighters seemed to have the upper hand, but there was no estimate on when they'll have the fire fully contained.
By around 5 p.m. Saturday, the fire was 90 percent contained.
No structures were threatened and no one was injured.
About 60 Los Angeles County firefighters were battling the blaze.
Officials said the fire appears suspicious and is under investigation.
