The names of the two victims were not immediately released.
The fire displaced about 10 residents. The Red Cross was helping them find temporary housing.

LOS ANGELES The fire started just before 10:45 Friday night in a two-story building in the 1100 block of South Hoover Street in the Westlake District. Firefighters knocked down the fire in about 30 minutes.
