Thousands chomp donuts, run for good cause

February 6, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
A crowd of 7,500 people showed up for the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, N.C. to contribute to a good cause.

Participants had to run two miles, eat a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, and then run two miles back to the start.

That amounts to four miles of running to burn off about 2,400 calories.

A man from Fort Bragg won the challenge, finishing in just over 29 minutes.

The event raised more than $100,000 for the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
