The 128-foot long blimp was empty when it broke free of its moorings at a Columbus airport during strong winds. It drifted to the sky and landed in Lillian Bernhagen's backyard about 12 miles away.
Bernhagen says she heard a bang while sleeping, but didn't think much of it at first.
"I woke up to the policeman banging on my door," said Bernhagen. "He said 'well you have a blimp in your backyard.' And I said, 'you've got to be kidding me.'"
Bernhagen says the blimp knocked down a small tree and slightly bent a corner awning along her roof, but otherwise didn't do any major damage to her home.
