Police said they got a call early Wednesday morning from Edgar Lucio Zamudio, saying he had been in a fight with his friend at a home in Buena Park.
When officers went to check on the victim, they found the man dead and Zamudio was no longer there.
They said the victim died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Zamudio later turned himself into police. After being questioned, he was booked on murder charges.
