William Woodin, 39, broke out of Theo Lacy jail in Orange on Wednesday after wiggling through a window in the kitchen.
On Thursday, deputies tracked Woodin to a park in Lake Forest and took him back into custody.
Woodin is serving time for a probation violation after arrests for petty theft, burglary and drug possession.
