The suspect eventually was taken into custody. He tried to rob someone in front of a home near Chase and Louise avenues, officials said. The suspect then apparently ran into a nearby home in an attempt to escape.
Los Angeles police were able to get the homeowner out safely, but the suspect remained inside. Three or four nearby homes were evacuated.
