The first small quake hit at 10:50 a.m., centered 14 miles south-southwest of La Quinta. The preliminary magnitude was recorded at 3.4.
About 25 minutes later, two small earthquakes -- a 3.7 and a 2.6 -- struck Riverside County again.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
