Time Warner Cable apologizes for Southern California Super Bowl blackout

LOS ANGELES

The signal went out for some customers just before halftime. The company says a technical issue affected the Fox standard definition channel, causing a blackout for about an hour, but that the game was still viewable on the high-definition channel.

"Our engineers resolved the issue as quickly as possible, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused our customers," Time Warner Cable said in a statement.

It remains unclear what caused the blackout.
