Carmen Salinas, star of Mexican TV and film, in hospital after stroke

Popular Mexican actress Carmen Salinas is hospitalized after suffering a stroke, her family says.

A nephew of Salinas confirmed she is in intensive care and is connected to a ventilator in a Mexico City hospital.

The 82-year-old actress has over six decades of experience in Mexican television and films.

In 2015 she was elected to a seat in the Mexican Congress representing the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
