Lockdown lifted at Edison High School in Huntington Beach following bomb threat

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Edison High School in Huntington Beach was placed on lockdown for several hours Monday following a bomb threat.

Officials say the anonymous threat came via email around 8:39 a.m. The bomb squad responded to the scene near Magnolia Street and Hamilton Avenue, and students were evacuated to a large field on campus.

After searching the school, officials said nothing suspicious was found, and the lockdown was lifted just before noon.

Nearby Sowers Middle School was also placed on lockdown as a precaution during the investigation, along with Hayes and Eader elementary schools.
