1 killed, 2 injured after car crashes into tree in La Mirada

LA MIRADA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was killed and two women injured when the vehicle they were traveling in struck a tree in La Mirada Thursday night, sheriff's deputies said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred just after 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Valley View Street.

The two women, one of whom has been identified as the driver, were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Investigators say speed likely played a part in the crash. They're also working to determine if alcohol or drugs may have been a factor.
