ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a transgender person in Anaheim.

Randy Lee Parkerson, 38, was arrested in his vehicle in the 200 block of East Katella on Tuesday morning, police said.

In June, the body of 28-year-old Zoraida "Ale" Reyes was found in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen in the 200 block of North State College Boulevard.

Reyes was active in transgender and immigration efforts in Orange County. So far there is no evidence that Reyes was specifically targeted, and the death is not being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

Parkerson, of Anaheim, was booked for murder at the Anaheim Police Department. He is being held on $1 million bail.
