Motorist slams car into Santa Ana bar after mistaking gas pedal for brake

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman accidentally put her foot on the gas pedal and plowed into a bar in Santa Ana, causing the structure to be red-tagged.

Authorities said the driver, who was not under the influence, hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. She crashed her car into the front wall of the Mama and Friends Bar in the 2500 block of West Edinger Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.

Police say bar patrons were not injured in the crash.

The building has been red-tagged and will be closed indefinitely.
