Report of child kidnapping at Union Station unfounded, LAPD says

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police said a child kidnapping report is believed to be false and was made by a mentally ill person on Wednesday.

Officials investigated a report of a 3-year-old boy being kidnapped by two women at Union Station at about 5:15 p.m. and found it to be unfounded.

Police said there is no active search underway for a child in the investigation.
