SoCal to see mild afternoon and cold overnight temperatures

Los Angeles and the rest of Southern California will see dry conditions and cooler temperatures Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Dry and cool weather with cold nights remain in Southern California, but warmer temperatures are around the corner.



For Wednesday, the highs will mostly be in the 50s and 60s, and overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s.



A slow warm up arrives by the weekend when some parts could be in the 70s. The next chance for rain is next week, but it's still unclear exactly when and how much is expected.



Los Angeles and Orange counties Wednesday can expect a mix of clouds and sunshine, with a high of around 61 degrees and a low of 42. Weekend temperatures could reach the low 70s.



The valleys and Inland Empire Wednesday will be sunny and cool. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low 60s, and overnight lows will be in the upper 30s.



Beaches Wednesday will see clouds to start the day, followed by afternoon sunshine. A cool day is expected, with a high of 59 on tap and a low of 44.



Mountains will be cold - a high of 39 and a low of a chilly 14 is expected. Temperatures jump to the upper 40s Thursday.



Deserts will be cool during the day and cold at night. It'll be around 60 degrees in the afternoon and 27 at night. Similar conditions are expected through Friday.
