LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti showcased an experimental water conservation system known as StormCatcher as an effort to help city residents save water during California's severe drought.
City officials are seeing El Nino as a potential ally in the battle against California's dwindling water supply, and a StormCatcher was installed at a North Hollywood home to show residents how the system works.
A new collaboration between city and county water agencies is paying to see if systems like this -- hooked up to the internet and installed at homes countywide -- would not only replenish our water supplies, but also prevent flooding.
