GM recalls Cruze models for steering wheel trouble

DETROIT The recall follows an incident last month in which a steering wheel on a Cruze detached from the steering column while the car was moving.

The driver was not hurt, and GM believes it was an isolated incident.

The recall affects only certain 2011 model year cars.

GM says Cruze owners can take their vehicles to a dealer for a free safety inspection to make sure the steering wheel is properly fastened.
