The 6-inch main broke at about 3 a.m. Friday right off the 101 Freeway, closing part of Magnolia Boulevard.
Only a handful of residents were affected since this is not a very heavily traveled area.
Crews did have to come out and turn off the water, so some people were without water for a while.
The cause of the break was under investigation.
