Gerald Guy Byrne, who's wanted in connection to the July 2009 murder of Charles John Samo in Santa Ana, was booked last Saturday on an unrelated charge in Everett, Wash.
Officials said Byrne tried to use a false name, but he was identified through finger prints.
Samo was found dead inside a condominium complex. An autopsy showed that he had been strangled. Investigators identified Byrne as the suspect in the murder.
Byrne, a transient parolee with a long criminal history, has been on the run. He will soon be brought back to California.
