EAST LOS ANGELES -- Two people were forced into a truck at gunpoint in front of a Target in Commerce, and then driven to East Los Angeles, where they were robbed, sheriff's officials said.

The suspects approached the two victims outside of the Target on the 5600 block of Whittier Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said one of the suspects pointed a 9 mm handgun at one of the victims and told both of them to get into the suspects' pick-up truck.

They then drove the victims to the 1000 block of Simmons Avenue in East Los Angeles, where they rifled through the victims' pockets. After the suspects took a ring, a watch and about $600 in cash, they fled the scene, leaving the victims behind uninjured.

Authorities said the two suspects drove off in a white Ford F-150 with a black bra on the front grille.

The victims, who are from Temecula, told investigators that they don't know the suspects. It remains unclear why the suspects drove the victims to the East Los Angeles location before robbing them.
